The Transformation Life Center

The Transformation Life Center (TLC) is a program overseen by SCCoH that provides emergency housing for women and children, recognizing that they are disproportionately affected by homelessness. More than just a shelter, TLC offers a pathway to stability by equipping residents with the tools they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Residents at TLC have access to life skills classes, budgeting workshops, and connections to vital community resources. By fostering personal growth and financial independence, we aim to break the cycle of homelessness for women and their families.

Our Mission

To provide a safe and supportive environment where women and children experiencing homelessness can regain stability and build a foundation for a secure, independent future.

What We Offer

The Transformation Life Center is more than just a place to stay. It is a residential emergency shelter program designed to help women and children move from crisis toward stability, safety, and long-term housing.

Safe Housing

TLC provides emergency shelter in a secure, supportive, and family-focused environment. Women and their children have access to safe accommodations while they work toward personal goals, increased stability, and permanent housing.

Housing Navigation & Access Point Services

As part of the local homeless response system, TLC assists residents with housing assessments, referrals, and enrollment in the Coordinated Entry (Access Point) process when appropriate. Staff help residents explore housing options, connect with housing programs, and navigate barriers to obtaining permanent housing.

Life Skills Development

Residents have opportunities to participate in life skills education focused on budgeting, employment readiness, parenting, communication, tenant responsibilities, household management, and other skills that support long-term self-sufficiency.

Food, Pantry & Basic Needs Support

TLC maintains a communal kitchen and pantry stocked with basic food items to help residents prepare their own meals. Residents have access to shared cooking facilities, staple food items, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, bedding, and other essential household necessities. Additional food, household items, and specialty needs are often provided through community donations when available.

Case Management & Personalized Support

Each resident works closely with staff to identify goals, address barriers, and create an individualized plan for success. Through one-on-one support, residents receive guidance, encouragement, advocacy, and referrals tailored to their unique circumstances.

Community Connections

Staff help residents connect with community resources including healthcare providers, mental health services, substance use recovery supports, employment services, childcare resources, educational opportunities, legal assistance, public benefits, transportation resources, and housing programs. These connections help build a foundation of long-term support beyond shelter services.

Transportation Assistance

When available, TLC assists residents in accessing transportation resources that support employment, medical appointments, housing searches, and other essential activities necessary for achieving stability.

Meet the Team

I am originally from the Dayton area of Ohio and moved to Tiffin in 2020 to attend Heidelberg University. I immediately fell in love with Tiffin and chose to stay in town throughout my studies, working as a summer student worker. In 2024, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on nonprofit management, from Heidelberg University.

My passion is using effective business practices to strengthen the nonprofit sector and support the greater Tiffin and Seneca County community. I am honored to be part of a team that works diligently to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
